The Christophers (2026)

This year’s terrific film from Steven Soderbergh about art, criticism, deception, influence, and more, in which a young painter and art restorer (Michaela Cole) is enlisted by the children of a famous but long-stagnating artist (Ian McKellen) in a scheme to have her secretly complete a set of unfinished works (the titular Christophers) that he’s kept in his locked attic for decades, so that they can sell them off once he dies.
