The Besnard Lakes Are The Roaring Night - The Besnard Lakes

Montreal's The Besnard Lakes have been releasing glorious space rock since the early 2000s and I think this is their best album. I've got a soft spot for their debut and I like all of their music since (last year's Ghost Nation was excellent) but The Roaring Night is a particularly exhilarating listen, it's the sound of a band at their peak opening all of the jets. Crank Albatross or And This Is What We Call Progress for "The Bezzies" at their star-screaming best.

Saw them live a couple of times and they clean knocked my socks off. The 21st century's most underrated band? I reckon so.
