Quick and fun, and I love the “napkin math” explainer they provide after each answer. Their “about” info:
Fermi is a daily estimation puzzle game. Each day brings three questions with hard-to-picture answers, and you get one guess apiece. Instead of grading exact digits, Fermi scores how close you land as a multiple of the real answer: guess it exactly and you score 1×, miss by ten times and you score 10×. Lower is better. Your final score is an average of your three answers.
The game takes its name from the physicist Enrico Fermi, who was known for finding seemingly impossible answers with quick napkin math. The goal is getting close with almost no information.
I’m so hooked. Today was my best day, so ofc I’m reccing this now instead of yesterday, when I wildly missed an astronomical question and ended at like 46x 🫣
