A friend and occupational therapist recommended I create a ‘social storybook’ for back-to-school. Bind a few sheets of construction paper, and paste printed pictures (—Google Photos made that pretty easy). Then, write simple captions to tell the story of drop off, the classroom, and pick up —from our child’s perspective. Add stickers/doodle in the margins/make it your own. **Basically, an activity that took up a full nap time, but I’m finding a lot of upside and comfort to reading this together and prepping for her first days back.
