A practical question that I feel this community is uniquely equipped to offer answers to: as someone who isn’t a capital C collector of vintage (ie I wear the shit out of my stuff) but I still want to properly care for, protect and document it- what’s the ideal way to store/organize archival clothing and jewelry?

For the really special pieces, this is your best bet. Clothes need to breathe, so you don’t want plastic storage containers and flat or folded is better than hanging for long term storage.

I think I’m becoming someone who just collects archival storage boxes. I don’t have anything particularly archival to store but they’re just such satisfying vessels that make my brain calm.
