Possession (1981)

Transcendent, recondite, grotesque. I once had an acting professor mock Adjani’s performance with the bag of milk… now I’m a film professor. Related? Not directly. He hadn’t seen the entire movie. But I had.

“"There's nothing to fear except god, whatever that means to you" "For me god is a disease..." Love has become so integral to our being that we are willing to lose our selves in it. Whether it be our morals or the relations we have with those around us. The slow yet invincible disregard of morality is what makes the characters in this movie even more human. Anne is everything that humanity condemns”
