I also just discovered Bahri Dates at a Bay Area farmer's market and am in love. I had no idea dates could taste like this, and by this I mean like pulling caramels straight from the tree.
I'm already scheming how I can take some cross-country for Thanksgiving for my family.

“purchased some of these at the Menlo Park farmer’s market and could not believe how insanely delicious they were. I’m talking melt in your mouth, tears in your eyes, caramel goodness. These are not the chewy, shelf aged dates I’m used to.”

“My friend’s mom brought them out when we were visiting - you buy them on the branch when they’re yellow and crunchy still, and they taste a little like sugar cane, and then as they ripen and wrinkle and turn brown they turn into the creamiest most delicious dates I’ve ever had! More layered flavor and I like them even better than medjool dates.”

“I recently had a Barhi date for the first time and it was life changing ~ like carmel butter. I got mine from the Ojai farmer's market but if you're in LA, Bautista is known for having the best dates around!”
