DAY 11

From Cannibal Holocaust to The Blair Witch Project to Paranormal Activity to Late Night with the Devil, the tradition of found footage horror is varied and mostly horrifying.

I saw Quarantine (the American version of this film) in San Francisco's Metreon Theater on, like, a Wednesday night. It's a huge room and there were only a handful of us and we were left shaken! (Side note: I do feel like the best horror movie theater experiences tend to be either in a full house or an empty house; no in-between).

Then, I watched the original, REC, with my family and, we agreed, the original was even more horrifying than Quarantine! It is a perfect Halloween season movie, if you really want to get scared.

Watch it in a dark room and, for those viewing, promise not to say a word throughout the film. Keep it lightless, keep it quiet until the credits roll.
