Desert Hearts (1985)

Any recs for fun queer films that don’t end in tragedy? Things like The Birdcage, To Wong Foo, etc. I know they’re out there but need some help finding them, could be comedies, dramas, docs, just anything where the characters all live to see the end of the movie!

Visit

Set in 1959, a woman hangs out in the Reno area on a ranch while waiting out for a "quick divorce" from her husband. During her stay, she meets some quirky characters as well as a charming sculptress named Cay.

Hope this is one you'll enjoy!

“"Donna Deitch’s swooning and sensual first narrative feature, Desert Hearts, was groundbreaking upon its release in 1985: a love story about two women, made entirely independently, on a shoestring budget, by a woman." The clothes alone are worth your 90 minutes.”
