My Brilliant Friend

Oh my god, Ferrante's work is remarkable. The landscape is dirty, violent, and desperate. Her prose is highly naturalistic, but with the angst and hyperbole of adolescence. (Shoutout to Ann Goldstein's incredible translation, too)
