I really want to get better at sewing! I'm a total newbie and the only thing I've done (not very well) is hem a pair of pants and make a little bag. What are some great newbie sewing projects, resources, or some beginner patterns to help hone my skills?

This is one of the first patterns I did and I made a bunch of them. Great instructions, and doesn't use a lot of fabric so not a huge risk. I also love a good box top - I made the All Well version. I like to watch youtube videos of how to do literally everything, on half speed, before I do it myself
