Volunteer manual labor to cure general malaise
Recommended by Jackie Homan
Hear me out: if your work days are mostly sitting at a computer for long stretches, making decisions, managing things, etc… it feels really good to have someone point to 100 folding chairs and ask you to break them down and carry them to a loading dock. You just do as you’re told and get to be out of your own head and helping a cause (in this case, helping set up a community film festival screening)

Wait I did not know this was a thing at alllll… what does this entail?? Do you need restaurant experience?
@juliehere
no you need chutzpah to go in and ask, easier to get it at a coffee shop with zero experience but no calls no shows and callouts are a huge issue in the restaurant industry. you’d be surprised i bet. i was thinking of picking up a shift at my neighborhood wine bar but my weekends have been too crazy to even be helpful
