Novik is really good. Loved Spinning Silver, Uprooted, the Scholomance books. A coward's question: does the Temeraire series end happy? I did that thing I do where I read the first and only the first in a long series because it felt like it was at a happy narrative point and I was worried that things would get dire.

I think they end happy but honestly it is kind of a blur to me? I did feel like the episodic nature got clearer as the books went on/now they’re in Africa, now they’re in Australia, now they’re in South America etc
