Teach Your Child To Read (if they’re interested and you want to)

I was skeptical about this book because it was given to us by my MIL, and well, no further explanation needed.

She is, however, a retired English teacher and forever reader so when my 5 yo expressed interest in reading we decided to try it out.

It turns out the 17,000+ positive reviews on Amazon don’t actually lie. This book teaches YOU exactly how to teach them and it WORKS. I never realized that knowing letter sounds has nothing to do with understanding sound blending and that that’s a key part of reading.

YMMV but for my daughter this book single handedly taught her to read and probably only made it through 30 lessons.
