Bags and what’s in my bag
Kindle Paperwhite
$159.99
•••
I read physical books during the day and at bedtime, but my closing move is laying flat on my back with a pillow propped on my chest and my Kindle atop the pillow. I read until I cannot keep my eyes open. I also love my Kindle Paperwhite for flights and traveling. Vastly better experience than reading from a phone/laptop.

mudita kompakt
•••
I bought a dumbphone - the Mudita kompakt - off of dumbwireless.com last summer, and it’s been a dream to be able to detox from my iPhone while still feeling reachable. It works well with my AirPods, and can work with Spotify, so I’m still able to do so much with it without losing my entire day to *the scroll*

Worth The Hype
Camp Snap camera
$99
•••
I bought a Camp Snap for summer camp last summer and it was an amazing purchase. I love nostalgic things and this really fits the bill with the convenience of downloading the photos right away. It's a truly genius product and I'm buying a second for myself (a great way to GET MYSELF OFF MY PHONE). Use FEWERBETTER7 for 7% off. Here's a few shots from last summer if you want to see: https://substack.com/@fewerandbetter/note/c-195499055

Concept2 Erg
$990
•••
Keeps on giving. I bought my Concept2 in 2020 and have used it continuously since. A staple object in my home. The erg paid for itself by this point. Also, I think Concept2 makes the best erg; it's elegant and not overburdened with gadgets. I've moved it, or rather them: Lucretia, countless times. https://clip.cafe/john-tucker-must-die-2006/okay-jennifer-alison-molly/?srsltid=AfmBOoqDm2lrLWe1SviHGJcvs4Mq1LEyeSkFPwl9CDbP3aFWlbwEOB3a

Simple Musical Instruments
•••
The link goes to children’s Tin whistles, which are junk but can fill up days with fun music. More elaborate music tech rewards you in more complex ways, although there are many, many musical instruments with shallower learning curves than you think.

CASA
Equity Electric Analog Alarm Clock
$15.95
•••
An alarm clock with hands, that plugs into the wall and doesn’t reset when there’s a power surge, also has a simple 5 minute snooze bar and a beep-beep-beep style wake up. Even the blue nightlight is soft and soothing.
