When you hear Kendrick’s early desire to land Jay Rock on a track as a mentor and someone he looked up to, it’s dope to see one of Kendrick’s best songs is where someone else has a better verse than him - almost on purpose.

“Ya bish! I knew this track/album/artist would be an all timer as soon as recognized the (reversed) sample from Beach House's gorgeous 'Silver Soul'. That disconnected, almost biblical "the one in front of the gun, lives forever". That Dominoes bit at the end. Incredible stuff. Which makes it all the more incredible that Jay Rock, lesser celebrated member of TDE, completely hijacks this vulnerable”
