meltdowns rarely happen in the middle of things…they happen ending something and starting something. this is true for kids and it is absolutely true for adults. the first fifteen minutes of anything can be weird (anyone who has ever hit up a kid’s playdate with new people will tell you) and knowing that kinda changes everything. we can prepare for transitions the way we’d prepare for anything else that matters…a lil ritual, a reset, a moment of nothing in between the something and the next somet...
