Stay True
$15
A tender coming-of-age memoir of a very creative guy named Hua and his friendship with Ken. It takes place in the 90s so it was just such a cool and analogue time to be young.the theme of mixtapes is woven throughout the book to help tell the story of their friendship. There is an unexpected tragic twist that definitely made me cry a lot, especially since it’s a true story. I recommend this one a lot.

“I ran into Hua Hsu at a record rummage sale right after finishing this. I floundered around telling him how much I loved it. He was lovely and gracious.”

“College, the 90s, the bay, unlikely friendships, growing up, grief. Stay True makes me nostalgic for a life that wasn't mine, but whose outline took a similar shape. I’ll read it a million times just to break my own heart.”
