Ed Emberley's Little Drawing Book of Weirdos

I had a nostalgia attack last week as the fall weather wafted in and remembered that Ed Emberley came to my elementary school and did an interactive assembly with us, which was enough to make my little artist heart a forever fan. He's an illustrator whose books break down how to draw everything step by step in simple shapes - I think Target carries the new versions, but I hunted this one down on eBay for my kids.
