Toddler birthday party favor suggestions: My daughter’s 3rd birthday is the end of this month. The party will be a gymnastics party at the local Y. I’m expecting about 20 kids. I’d love suggestions for cheap, easy party favor(s) that kids will like and parents won’t hate.

A Crayon Melting Activity: Making a batch of DIY rainbow crayons is cheap, easy + fun; you can also make them in fun themed shapes using an oven-safe silicon mold. I had a great time turning broken crayons into flower-shaped crayons when I had a flower-mad toddler.

Tiny things: In the past, we’ve had some pretty thrilled little party guests when we’ve given out necklaces with tiny bottles of bubbles (tiny wand included), sheets of tiny stickers (as long as guests are old enough not to put in mouths), tiny self-propelling cars, tiny gemstones… you get it. Not a favor per se, but my kids also loved a treasure hunt at a friend’s party one year—it was at a city park and the hosts prepped clues and hiding spots ahead of time. Picture a swarm of four year-olds squealing and sprinting around the park together.

playdoh: Get a ton of mini sizes and add a couple to each gift bag. Super easy and while Playdoh isn’t every parents’ favorite, it’s fantastic for developing motor skills and, crucially, not slime.
