Learn to Hand Sew

You can learn the basics in an afternoon, and it opens up so many options to prolong the life of fabric goods. It feels really personal to sew a patch onto a shirt or bag that you love. I took a class at a local shop and now I'm waiting for the next button to fall off one of my shirts so I can sew it back on.
