First concert / Best concert: First concert - Sheryl crow in 1997. Honestly one of the best concerts. Fox theatre St. Louis. With my dad and my friend Allison. Still put on "if it makes you happy" with regularity.

Best concert - sufjan stevens, touring on the illinois album, my freshman year of college at the university of Illinois at the canopy club. When the band came out in U of I cheerleading costumes, the crowd went fully nuts. Such a time and place!

Boys Like Girls at Six Flags Great Adventure: 2009 — The Academy Is and NeverShoutNever, among others, opened for them.

Probably my favorite as well cause I was young, summer before hs, and it was free!

Confessions On A Dance Floor: My first concert was Huey Lewis and the News. But my absolute favorite was Madonna's Confessions On A Dance Floor. Took a taxi to United Center during my lunch break to buy myself a ticket. Went back to work, and made up a story about a washing machine that broke, flooding my apartment so I could leave work. Off to the concert I went.

Depeche Mode - Music for the Masses Tour 1988: First was Adam Ant @ Radio City, pre-teen girl all the way. Favorite was Depeche Mode Music for the Masses Tour 1988 - I ended up pulled over the front barrier so I didn't get crushed, then to the medic tent for a check - back in the mix ten mins later, the bliss of being 14 - surealy to think about how in the moment we were - there was no way to be anywhere but where we were. It's been a long time since I've felt that at a concert. Extreemly poor audio here:

beach house at the berkeley greek: my first concert was hilary duff, frankly quite difficult to surpass that. and it’s so hard to pick just one, but beach house at the berkeley greek in 2022 was so magical. something about that concert just sticks with me; it’s a yardstick i’m measuring everything else against. this link has a clip from it!

Fleetwood Mac - Landslide: Fleetwood Mac's "Unchained" tour with my late mother was my all-time favorite concert. Fleetwood Mac was always one of her favorite bands and the only one she hadn't seen live. They were playing near us on her 50th birthday, which was also Mother's Day, and we went together. She had MS and limited mobility so our ability to do things out of the house together was limited, but I'm so glad we managed this. We had amazing seats and the concert was incredible. I'll never forget the version of Landslide that Stevie sang--the arrangement is slightly different from the original and it's infinitely more poignant and meaningful. I listen to this version all the time and I'm so glad that someone recorded it.
