Following on from my zero Amazon policy & how I manage to keep pulling it off while actually saving money & not giving up quality of life. This is an actual screen grab from my account today - I am a single human household with dogs, I travel 1/3 - 1/2 of most years and buy a lot locally which makes me imagine how much a family could save with Thrive.
Thrive is a replacement for Amazon, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's (Aldi owned and so so so processed in a lot of cases) & in general big grocery in every way. I am single, I make a lot of my own condiments now & don't eat a ton of processed food but still need a lot of supplies. This is where I get a lot of them and where I try new brands. Thrive does the work on ingredients, carbon offsets & efficient planet friendly practices (really well at scale & continuing to improve over the last decade) I was early to the Thrive Market game & have stayed with it - the yearly fee pays for itself quickly & saves time which is so important to me I can't even calculate a way to value it.
What I get from them: nut butters, baking supplies, cases of Elmhurst 2-ingredient Cashew milk for 1/3 less than anywhere near me, cleaning supplies, their private label goods are in my experience top quality & when it applies organic & regenerative - coconut milk, jacks beans, supplements, pastas, new CPG brands, and many more pantry staples & household items.
They deliver all over the country which saved me when I moved to the Hudson Valley or when I land in Maine for a month and want to have my expendables delivered instead of using precious time hunting things locally. I've only had a couple of delivery issues in the last 11 years burst Elmhurst containers in one, or a crushed box & I have had a seamless, quick & effective resolve online with chat.
I can't recommend Thrive enough - your life will be better, cost less & you will claw time back all while lessening your impact on the planet. WIN WIN WIN.

Across CA, NY and travels I rely mostly on farmers markets, or farm direct spots in the case of spots like Hudson Valley or Maine, but also local more farm direct stores there is usually one or two close by that stock direct from local growers, HV Adam's Acres, LA Cookbook ($$$) etc.
This does mean eating in season much more and relying on preserving in season for later use. In NYC there is Farm to People and in LA I used Good Eggs too. Both are great at sourcing from farms, Misfits Market is also a good source that covers a bigger area of delivery.
I used to use and LOVE Misfits and need to get back into it!
