A great waterproof weekend & carry on tote from Rains

This Rec gem we owe to @Louise Buckley who reminded me of Rains this am in one of her responses to an ask for rain coats. In 2018 I was the innovation lead at J.Crew working over the whole brand group on partnerships and Rains was a new to me at the time brand that had been founded in Denmark in 2012 - we worked with them on a series of coats BUT they also sent me a bag - I believe a new product for them at the time and they wanted us to expand our assortment.

The merchants at JC didn't bite but I got to keep the bag, and let me tell you how I've abused and used this bag on every trip since then. Trains, Planes and Automobiles over and over and over again. I do need a new one now it's a little worse for wear after nine years my four months straight of travel this summer took it's toll - $125 for a great soft bag that is totally waterproof that lasted this long with this level of use - feels like a serious bargain, and I love the bag! Lots of cool colors now too.
