Late to School Goblins

Made up these rascals one morning trying to get my then-Preschooler out the door. I’d just read Hunt Gather Parent so I felt confident that a little scary is okay for kids.

The Goblins live in the heating vents and they only come out when you’re late for school or work. They like to eat fingers. They nibble but will eat the whole thing. I went to school with a kid who was missing a couple fingers. Must’ve been late a couple times!

To this day when I say, “I hear the vents starting to rattle,” she picks up the pace!

I can tell she knows they aren’t really real…but are they?? Better to pick up the pace and not find out!

She has also invented the Late to Home goblins for when we run late picking her up. Those goblins don’t eat fingers, they’re simply friendly. 🤗
