What hosting/table goods are you into lately? For me, it's all about drip glaze, marbled ceramics, and Tamegroute pottery.
Okay folks: show me one thing you wear that makes you feel effortlessly chic.
Tell me about a work of art you could think about forever.
I have my first black tie-optional wedding coming up this fall, and the couple is FUN. What do you love to wear that borders on black tie without feeling stiff or fussy? My vibe is heavy on the prints and embellishments. Think disco excess, like if Fran Fine became a bit player in the local production of Xanadu.
I'm looking for novel hosting touches. What do you put on your table, at your entryway, in your ice bucket, on your playlist? What's that one thoughtful thing you do that people always notice? Tell me about them!
What's a recipe you can count on to make you look like a much better cook than you are? Specifically: one you can prep ahead, serve with a flourish, and not be worried about whether it's getting cold for the latecomers. I'm hosting friends for dinner this week and need some new ideas!
What’s a book you’ve read that makes great dinner-party conversation? Hit me with the Dadaist art history that made you get into sculpture, the magpie biography whose eccentric subject runs laps around Edies Big and Little, the lightly Christian true-crime where the cult did THAT thing. Weird histories? Shocking industries? Nervy tell-alls with great guts and/or gossip? I want them all!
