Pokemon Play Dates

For the childless among us, consider this a rec for getting into whatever your friends' kids are into. I occupied a full 25 minutes on my last FaceTime with my long-distance BFF and her son by having him show me all the Pokemon cards he got for his fourth birthday. It was a bonus that my partner had some of his cards in the house to show back.

So what are your nieces and nephews digging lately — coloring? Show them your pastel set and take requests. Singing? Teach them a new showtune. Dress-up? Bring them some old costume jewelry or fancy clothes to try on. The kid AND the parent will elevate you to fave status.
