The LAPL is great in general, but Los Feliz branch #36 has my heart. It’s got it all, namely,
1)the Leonardo DiCaprio Computer Center (the library is on the site of his childhood home, and now you can surf the web under the benevolent watch of Leo’s sun faded movie posters, a thrill!)
2)a very decent LA architecture and urbanism section (which introduced me to architectural historian Esther McCoy, who rules)
3)an inexplicable signed and framed Twilight poster as you enter (ok!)
4)a terrific librarian in the evening named John whose recommendations and judgment I take very seriously (recently Henry Green’s Party Going got a nod of approval, thank god)
Long may the public library live, one of the best things we’ve got going on
