Get to know the various estate sale companies in your area, then visit their sales a few times and look up the items you are most interested in on eBay/Etsy. Some companies will price at or above market value online, which is usually higher than the market value in your area. (This depends on your location, so know your local FB Marketplace/vintage shops/flea/antique market going rates, too.
All of this takes a little bit of very fun research and multiple trips to verify said research…
But seriously, knowing which companies charge at what rate below/at/above market value can help you decide which one to go to first (do they have a “would die for” item, and are they always a good deal?), and which ones you can probably wait for the 50% off day.
