if you’re looking for a heartwarming and cozy animated film, i highly suggest watching this. I absolutely loved the way the film was drawn and illustrated. as if each scene could be a standalone watercolor painting which inspired me to pick up my watercolor set after.
the softness of each scene carried the gravity of the princess’ sadness, her longing to feel like she belonged, and her yearning for freedom behind the bars of the castle which her very own father generously found to keep his princess safe.
themes: parenthood, freedom, feminism, marriage, poverty.
