The Leftovers

James Kylstra

“The GOAT. There was no other show like it. Funny, sad, profound, beautifully acted. Got better as it went along. One of the very best finales of any show I’ve ever watched also. This is a video of my favorite scene, but it might not hit for you if you haven’t watched the rest of the show. Remedy that!”

“Painful, beautiful, excellent TV.”

“I just finished a rewatch of The Leftovers just over 10 years later— this show has been on my mind a lot the last few years and I decided it was time to revisit this one. The world attempts to make sense of an inexplicable event, 2% of the population disappears into thin air. The parallels to the last strange strange decade are uncanny. Grief, cults, spiritual psychosis, magical thinking -> covid,”
