I actually love this for make-up though it isn’t waterproof.

Appropriately sized simple makeup bag

I use a small or medium Baggu zipper pouch from maybe 5+ years ago for makeup overflow like sparkly eyeshadows or moody lipsticks, which gets shoved in the back lower drawer of the vanity because it’s not used frequently. For regular makeup items like brushes, mascara which I think of as many people’s daily drivers, I use a Sonia Kashuk makeup bag (similar) that was a gift from a dear friend who did my wedding day makeup. That friend is a makeup and product queen, and she uses a series of Baggu zipper pouches and a clear makeup bag for hers, which makes it easy for her to find specifically what she’s looking for before digging into the bag. I think the main takeaway is: assess how much you use regularly and right-size accordingly. Main link is to what I’d probably buy if I was shopping for a new makeup bag today, though would maybe buy a brighter color (not white! I don’t want it to look dirty!) so that it’s easier to find my black brushes.

Everyday Pleasures ☀️
Perfect, simple toiletry bag

I’m 2.5 years deep into use with this toiletry bag, and it’s exactly what I need. I keep my toiletries in it all the time—at home, and when I travel. I keep tweezers and nail clippers in the exterior pocket. The internal pouches come most in handy when I travel: one side for oral hygiene items like floss, toothpaste, toothbrush head, and the other side for things like contact lenses, hair ties, a comb. The middle space has my electric toothbrush, decanted makeup remover, lotion, sunscreen. When I’m home a just throw all my everyday use things into the middle, and organize before a trip. It stands upright on its own, you can use the snaps to make it hold itself open. It fits into my vanity drawer in my bathroom, and fits nicely onto hotel shelf space and bathroom ledges. 10/10.

Umbra Glam Drawer Organizer, Large, White

This stackable makeup organizer holds a lot despite its small profile. And if you prefer a bit more shelf space, you can separate the layers to your liking. I found it forced me to just keep the essentials out, while easily tucking away less frequently used items.
