The open office / design for "creativity"

What 'ordinary' object, space, or system do you think deserves a full cultural autopsy? I recently launched Enter Fugue, a Substack (link via substack icon on my page) about how psychology & philosophy influence design and vice versa. Would love to hear what comes to mind when considering the above question, design choices that have changed behavior or accepted parts of modern life that feel absurd. All opinions welcome!!
