A bit biased, as he is also a friend, but I’ve been a big fan of Andy’s work (much of which is about reclaiming wood lath to create beautiful trompe l’oeil pieces) for decades now. It’s visual, it’s tactile, it’s sculptural, it’s spatial, with an eco-friendly ethos, to boot. If you’re in the Bay Area, he currently has a show at 500 Capp Street, which is worth a visit regardless of the current exhibit.
