What else? Before the internet you’d buy a record because the cover was cool, or cause they listed all the awesome synthesizers they used on the sleeve and I mean that’s got to sound cool right? Or you’d take the bus to the weird art movie theater downtown cause you read a blurb about a film in the alt weekly in your city (for me, City Paper in Washington DC). Or you’d ride your bike like miles and miles to another suburb cause you heard some kids built a ramp there, and you’d have to find other kids on bikes and be like “is there some kid who has a ramp near here?”

❤️❤️❤️. Before the internet, you wouldn’t know what time the next train or bus was coming. You’d just have to wait. You would look down at your shoes and remember where you got them. You’d look at the bench next to you and notice patterns in the wood.
