Pompe Boulangerie

Marseille has no shortage of fanciful French boulangeries, but Pompe stands out for specializing in pompes, a sweet Provençal celebration bread that is enriched with… olive oil! It’s such a fun diversion from the standard French pastry shop, and certainly a “only in Marseille” kind of treat. I prefer the larger location in Vauban to the Corniche Kennedy location, unless you’re picking up pre-beach snacks and sammies.
