Been crocheting since the fall, but found some patterns that make me really want to try knitting, too! Any online classes that you recommend? Or great first patterns that – with the help of youtube – I can use to teach myself?

I just love them! I also like Purl SoHo’s instructions. It’s easier for me to see someone in person do things, so if you have a LYS, I definitely recommend an in-person lesson.
