Elsie de Wolfe

Elsie de Wolfe (AKA LADY MENDL) is a great-great-aunt-or-something of mine, and my nom de plume's namesake. She was - perhaps - the first ever interior decorator and an out-n-proud lesbian Jew who was a prominent fixture on the Golden Hollywood circuit of the 1920s and 30s. Think: Greta Garbo, Carole Lombard, Marlene Dietrich, they all called her "Mother."

She has been my LOVE for a long time and I have been compiling articles, books, photographs and stories about her for the past 5+ years so that I can write my own book/screenplay (dream big!) about her. She is MINE.
