The best bakery in Paris, according to many people, including me and my Parisian husband Eric. We are biased because it was also the closest bakery to us, and Parisians always have a favorite bakery that's around the corner. But the owner Christopher is famous for growing his own very high quality organic ancestral wheat in the south of France, and the "pain des amis" bread is excellent. Their focus is bread and viennoisserie (croissants, rolls, anything yeasty etc), not patisserie (cakes, eclairs, macarons). Be sure to try the incredible sugar-crusted brioche, which is called "mouna" here. And if you're craving pizza, he opened a restaurant next door called La Table. Beware, the bakery is closed weekends, which always upsets loads of tourists.

“One of the few boulangeries open on Mondays. Famous for their escargots, croissants are also delicious”

“I don't know how people decide which boulangeries are their favorites when the options are abundant and wonderful but this one in the 10th is lovely.”
