Santa Barbara Public Library

A dreamy small-town library. In addition to their wonderful selection of books, I love their "Library of Things," which allowed you to check out actual "things" like...a guitar, a drill, a sewing machine, book clubs in a bag, museum passes, etc. And my daughter loved their children's section, which also had wooden/Montessori toys that you could check out. If you're not living in SB and just passing through, this is a beautiful, quiet place hang out and read a while.
