gasworks nyc

it’s an artist-first ceramics studio with patient instructors, loud and talented community, and a library of hand mixed glazes. students get precious open studio time for the duration of the class. i fell in love with hand building and learned so much from watching and talking to more experienced potters. i never got particularly close to the gasworks community, but the people i met were funny and warm, and super talented. i found something that tickled my nervous system, and with it a setting as magical as the feeling. drawbacks for many: the building is notttt accessible.
