"Being on time" is such a peculiar modern phenomena though. I think the stress arises because it goes against human nature... The notion of a standardized time was only introduced slightly over 100 years ago! Before that, the scale of measurement was way broader. The sky was our clock for most of human history.. and the sun is a wonderful clock even for us time blind folks... dawn, sunrise, morning, noon, afternoon, sunset, dusk.
