When You Trap a Tiger (Tae Keller)

This book is gorgeously written. I read this book out loud to my kid, and fought back tears as we were finishing it. The book discusses tough themes (like dementia, loneliness, and assimilation) in a totally accessible way for mature elementary and/or middle school kids.
