An Englishman Abroad
Alan Bates as spy Guy Burgess in this 1983 BBC drama. He needs a new suit as he recovers from his hangovers. Lightly handled by Alan Bennett. Oh and 60 minutes. Charming to the end.

611 minute running time, bought the DVD on your say-so!
Received the 611-minute Alan Bennett disc set and enjoyed the show ... which was directed by John Schlesinger!
Yes, forgot to mention that! You say 611 minute--it's just an hour, which is probably the right length!
Yes, sorry, the disc-set is 611 minutes with all of the various Alan Bennett productions... I always buy the physical media when possible.
"Anglophiles who revel in quintessentially British entertainment will find much to admire," said someone. The few other shows I skimmed seemed dated, but my mother will appreciate them so I'll gift it to her. I *did* enjoy An Englishman Abroad.
