Because it is really hard to know what is actually a good product or food and this app is super easy to use, suggests alternative products if the one you are checking on turns out to be bad.. and their testing/scieintic rationale seems pretty rigorous. They give you all the facts about what is in the product and when you are grocery shopping you can SCAN a product to easily find it. It does cost $15/year but so far I think it is worth it, even if it told me that Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizer is rated Poor. My 100 year old mother has been using this for as long as it has been available (60 years?) and i have been using it for at least 30 years and i do love it, but I am moving on,

“To save your money and skin at the cos counter—or wherever you get your lotions, potions, snake oils & snacks. And to keep the junk out of your body. Run every product through this, and notice how many of the costly creams, (LaMer) are rated 0/100 (aka “bad”). Independently run by a French woman (and small team) in NYC; it’s definitely an impulse buyer’s buzz kill, and it annoys the Sephora sales”

“The Yuka app allows you to scan most packaged foods and cosmetics to see how healthy they are.”
