Rituel De Fille Ash and Ember Eye Soot in “Flora”

This color is the troubled foil to a basic, prim lavender. It is described on Rituel’s website as a “Dimensional Lavender”, and I would agree, but I would it a little further and say it has a lot of silver in it. A little taupe too. It’s like if you took lavender, dragged it through the gutter, and then threw a bunch of glitter on it. Like if a personified lavender was out at a techno club at 4 am. Definitely lavender with an edge. I love how this one starts a conversation. People usually ask what I’m wearing when I wear this.

A note I have is that if you haven’t tried this eyeshadow formula, it’s quite unique. It is something between a cream and a powder, and it is best applied with your finger or a very dense brush. They actually sell their own brush to go with it and I find that one works really well for packing on the color. If you love to play with makeup, I don’t think you’ll have trouble finding a way to make it work. I also always use a primer with this one, and even then I will get a little creasing at times because it is something between creamy. I really don’t mind because I think it fits into the brand’s alternative and somewhat grunge aesthetic. If you’re on the fence, I would find a retailer that sells them to go swatch in person!
