“Mel Brooks bought the rights to the book as a birthday gift for Anne Bancroft, the stuff of true love! "I love used books that open to the page a previous owner read oftenest. When Hazlitt came, he opened to, "I hate to read new books." And I hollered, "Comrade!" to whoever owned it before me."”

“A sweet movie that quietly, kindly rips your heart out. Carrie Bradshaw has nothing on Helene Hanff. I highly recommend.”
