iNaturalist

Gabriela Wilson

“"Sexy Species Near You!" or "Deuxmoi for plants and animals" We love a primary source! iNaturalist is basically a user-led image database/map of realtime flora and fauna sightings. This is how I found out Green Wood Cemetery has a huge colony of skunks but no bats (and Prospect Park is crawling with bats but no Skunks??).”

Emily Teague

“Using iNaturalist turns your everyday walks into real scientific contributions- take a photo of a plant, insect, or animal and the community helps identify it. Your observations help researchers track biodiversity, monitor species populations, and better understand how nature is changing around us”

Courtney Apple

“This so fun for the whole family & we learn something! (These are harlequin cabbage bug eggs and are incredible to look at in person).”
