on my dream visit list.
pond farm pottery is the former home, studio, and school of bauhaus-trained master potter marguerite wildenhain, tucked into eight acres above the redwoods near guerneville. from her arrival in 1942 through her retirement in 1980, wildenhain produced much of her work there and led rigorous summer sessions that introduced generations of american ceramicists to bauhaus principles of form, technique, and artistry. now a national historic landmark, the property retains her home, guesthouse, barn studio, and original bauhaus-style kick wheels.
tours are available on the third saturday of each month.
