These are great dates, much better than anything from the grocery store. Next time I’ll try the grinders (the imperfect ones that are less expensive. Turns out my mom has been ordering these for years and says they’re just as good)

And if you're adventurous, try their Yellow Barhi dates (short season for just a few weeks usually in August). Eat them right off the strand. They have an apple-like crunch and mild astringency. You eat the skin as well but remember to spit out the pit. Eat them yellow and they'll be hard and crunchy. Brown and soft spots are normal and they will continue to ripen and mature. I prefer them fully ripened after they've turned brown and have softened, but I do relish them firm and yellow, chopped and tossed into my salad!
